The Transportation Lawyers Association 58th ‎Transportation Law Institute is scheduled for Friday, October ‎‎24th at the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit Hotel in Detroit.‎ Ain’t no party like a Detroit Party! And we do a pretty fantastic conference as well. Condé Nast Traveler selected Detroit in its Best Places to Go in 2024 list, and the New York Times recently ranked Detroit among the top 52 places around the world worth visiting in 2025. Come see for yourself the city that has captured the imaginations of everyone from Kid Rock to Red Hot Chili Peppers, and from Smokey Robinson and the Miracles to Martha and the Vandellas. Check out what’s new and exciting about the Motor City. There may be Dancing in the Street!

The education program will cover developments in ‎personal data and privacy rights, liability for brokers and shippers arising ‎out of high-loss truck accidents and FAAAA preemption, the use of AI in ‎legal practice with respect to contracts, litigation and compliance, ESI ‎spoliation sanctions, tariff and cross-border issues, and includes a multi-‎modal “lightning round” offered by legal experts on maritime, aviation, international trade, and rail. Each panel will provide both ‎legal and industry perspectives on the topics covered.‎ The TLI conference will also include multiple social and networking events including a welcome dinner at the Detroit Athletic Club, dine-arounds, and a Saturday event.

Designed ‎by Louis Kamper in Italian Renaissance style, it became Detroit’s ‎premier address, attracting high-profile meetings and social events and ‎welcoming notable guests, including four U.S. Presidents, Rev. Martin ‎Luther King, Jr., Lady Bird Johnson, Joe DiMaggio, Babe Ruth, Lou ‎Gehrig, Ted Williams, Errol Flynn, Danny Thomas, Frank Sinatra, Joe ‎Louis and many others. The hotel has recently undergone a multi-year, ‎‎$20 million renovation, and features a new, contemporary design, ‎a fully-equipped WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio, and an indoor ‎pool.‎
